Achievements at Versatilia Ltd * Managed the company [29]accounts and invoicing along with other administrative roles for example responding to support calls and emails, participating in meetings, and managing the company's [30]cPanel hosting server. * Studied PHP in my spare time and also learned how to code (x)HTML and CSS to a very high level. * Active member of the [31]CSS-Discuss and [32]Web Standards Group mailing lists. * [33]Simon O'Rourke's Tree Carving is a website I made for my brother's tree carving business. I used [34]Wordpress and customised the PHP templates aswell as the CSS. * [35]rodimus - A superb covers band from Liverpool, this simple site uses some unusual CSS techniques. * Integrated the company's CMS into existing business management software, in particular [36]Industry Software Ltd's [37]CustomerFocus. * Industry Software Ltd's own website uses an e-commerce template I created. * Created a variety of e-commerce and brochure templates using Versatilia's bespoke CMS currently dubbed 'quicksite'. * [38]The Italian Property Gallery - A website made on a budget as a means of boosting traffic and [39]pagerank. I succeeded in doing so in both of these areas seeing a 20% conversion rate of visitors to enquiries. * [40]Versatilia Ltd's website consists of a couple of hand-coded pages I created to explain what the company does while the official site is developed. The pages use CSS to optimise the site for multiple media formats. During my time here I have picked up some useful business experience and developed a firm grounding in web development and internet solutions. 2. Cocktail Bartender (June 2004 - February 2005) The Lansdown 8 Clifton Road Bristol BS8 1AF Tel: +44 1179 734949 I was trained by the manager in every aspect of a bartender's job from [41]mixology to working the crowd and maintaining the community atmosphere that made The Lansdown such an enjoyable place to visit and work in. Within 3 months of employment I was a trusted member of the team and well-known by the regulars. I was regularly assigned to run the upstairs cocktail bar that was hired out for functions and parties such as the end-of-season parties hosted by the [42]BBC for television shows such as Casualty and Flog It!. I gained a lot of self-confidence and improved upon my communication, sales and personal skills during my time there. I would have continued my employment but my priorities lay with my studies. * Education: 1. Virology and Immunology BSc. with Honours [43]University Of Bristol (2002 - 2005) Awarded Lower Second-Class Honours The degree course I initially applied for was Pathology and Microbiology with a specialisation chosen in final year. I had a good understanding of genetics and so I chose Virology and Immunology, two topics heavily involved in genetic research. I am still interested in the field of genetics and in particular the study of viruses, however, I opted against continuing my studies to develop my IT skills. 2. 3 A-Levels, 1 [44]AS-Level, 11 GCSEs [45]Chesterfield High School and Sixth Form Chesterfield Road, Crosby, Liverpool (1995 - 2002) +----------------------------------+ | Level | Subject | Grade(s) | |----------+------------+----------| | | Biology | A | | A-Level | Chemistry | B | | | Physics | B | |----------+------------+----------| | AS-Level | Psychology | B | |----------+-----------------------| | GCSE | A* to B | +----------------------------------+ * Additional: My website and portfolio are currently under construction.
